Sheila Conrad has been a Tai Chi practitioner for 32 years. She teaches the traditional Yang Style Long Form (108 movements) that was taught to her teacher, Ruth Naiman. This form emphasizes the physical, mental and spiritual balance created by the continuous flow of energy between yin and yang. Sheila began teaching Tai Chi in Los Angeles 23 years ago, and she has taught in New Kent County and Williamsburg since moving here in 2002. In addition to teaching the Yang Style Long Form, Sheila has developed a form of Tai Chi specifically for Seniors and Chair Tai Chi for people who cannot walk unassisted.

Jean began her practice with Integral-style yoga in 1971 and she has maintained an active practice in Iyengar-style yoga since 1992. Her 35 years of personal practice have included classes with Rosie Taylor and Jennifer Daly and workshops with advanced teachers, including Dean Lerner, Cindy Lee and Janet MacLeod. She completed her 200-hour teacher training in Mexico in February 2009, and she is registered as a yoga teacher with the National Yoga Alliance. She has been a resident of Williamsburg for over 30 years and she retired as Laboratory Manager of Eastern State Hospital in April 2006. She served as the studio manager of Anahata Yoga Center of Williamsburg for over 2 years. Jean's teaching blends Iyengar yoga's anatomical approach to physical postures with Integral yoga’s emphasis on breathing and deep relaxation. Her classes are strengthening, toning, uplifting and deeply relaxing.

Ann is registered as a RYT 500 with the National Yoga Alliance. She completed her basic yoga training in Shanghai, China (so, yes, she can give you yoga instructions in Mandarin Chinese!) and her 500-hour advanced yoga teacher training deep in the Himalayas in Dharamsala, India. She has studied yoga all over the world. She believes in a holistic approach to health with an emphasis on nutrition, meditation, massage and movement. She is studying for a doctorate in Physical Therapy and she works as an assistant teacher in Anatomy at Tidewater Community College. She is also studying to become a massage therapist.
Sissy has practiced yoga for 12 years and she received her teaching certification at the Integral Yoga Academy in Buckingham, VA in 2007. She is a Registered Yoga Teacher with the National Yoga Alliance and a member of the Integral Yoga Teachers Association. Sissy’s classes are taught in a meditative atmosphere and include asanas suitable for all levels, pranayama (breathing practices) and deep relaxation. Her classes are designed to help each student develop an easeful body and a peaceful mind. For the past four years, Sissy has taught weekly Yoga workshops and classes at Williamsburg Place and the Farley Center in Williamsburg, VA. She has also taught Yoga in Recovery workshops across the country including William & Mary’s Summer Institute on Addiction Studies, the Professional Association of Rehabilitation Counselors (PARC) annual conference at East Carolina University and most recently at the Farley Center Alumni meeting in Denver, CO. Her teaching experience includes Yoga for children (at summer camps and after school programs). Sissy also expects to receive her certification in Restorative Yoga in June 2012. Sissy works full time as the Assistant Director of Development at Child Development Resources in Williamsburg, VA.

Carolyn Felling has practiced yoga for over eight years. She is registered with the National Yoga Alliance as a 200-level instructor. Her yoga training emphasized Iyengar and Vinyasa styles of yoga. Carolyn’s work as a teacher and elementary school administrator for over 37 years has taught her the value of a calm and steady mind. She continues her work in education at the School Leadership Institute in the School of Education at the College of William and Mary. Her yoga classes emphasize a gentle, fun-loving spirit with instruction in how to increase physical strength and energy, grace, flexibility and well-being for all ages.
