Bellydance Workout with Bahira
Monday, 6:00-7:30 p.m. August 30 & Sept 13

You'll laugh, you'll sweat, you'll get strong! Use basic bellydance moves to work up a sweat and get fit. Women of all ages, shapes and sizes will discover bellydancing as a fun alternative to sit ups and jumping jacks. Each class introduces moves that tone hips, thighs, legs and abdomen with the goal of giving you a workout that is both fun and sweat-inducing! You don't have to be young, thin or particularly coordinated to enjoy this joyful and upbeat introduction to NEW Bellydance Workout classes starting this fall . Register today and have fun while you celebrate yourself and your body. No prior dance experience is necessary. WOMEN ONLY.

Yoga for Labor & Delivery
Wednesdays, 6:00-7:30pm July 28-Sept 15 Still Enrolling after Start Date!

This 8-week course introduces yoga as a way to discover and validate your own wisdom about meeting the challenge of labor and delivery. Learn simple poses, stretches and mindfulness to manage fears and cope with pain.  Fathers and other labor partners are invited to class to give and receive support.  Tap  the physical, emotional and spiritual resources you’ll need.  Stay fit too!  No prior yoga experience necessary.

Birth Talk Williamsburg
Mondays 6:30-8:30pm ~ Sept 20, Oct 18, Nov 22

Birth Talk Williamsburg is a Virginia Birth Matters Birth Circle event that provides a nurturing group for mothers, mothers-to-be and all women interested in sharing their wisdom about mothering and birth.  These circles will review information about evidenced-based practices in obstetrical care and present the benefits of the midwifery model of care.  Birth Talk Williamsburg is a social gathering where women can safely explore resources and support one another’s unique needs and wishes for birth.  Birth stories and discussion will be facilitated by Jacqueline Starkey, RN from The Family Maternity Center of the Northern Neck, Virginia's newest freestanding birth center.  Jacqueline has been providing doula care and childbirth education since 1997. On alternate months, a speaker will present pertinent mothering information and then facilitate the group discussion with Jacqueline. Birth Talk circles will be held on the third Monday of each month from 6:30-8:30 at Anahata Yoga Center at 104 Bypass Road in Williamsburg. Meeting dates and topics for 2010 are as follows:

September 20:  Meet our sponsors:  Jennifer Daly, Ph.D., RYT500 is a clinical psychologist and Director of Anahata Yoga Center. She will discuss the benefits of prenatal yoga and prenatal belly dance .  Jessica Jordan and Amber Price, Certified Nurse Midwives, will share information about services provided by The Family Maternity Center of the Northern Neck.

October 18:  Women gather to share birth stories, and discuss topics of interest
